I don't like this thing at all. It's like having the worst of both worlds.

It's not a true RAID 1, if the disk goes bad you still lose everything and the performance hit of duplicating files on the same hard disk is significant.

I can get a card that does support mirroring of two disks for $14 here.
I just can't see any reason to buy this card.

From my IT perspective this is a completely usesless solution for redundancy. Especially when its main function is almost like VSS which Vista has for normal users finally.

ha ha ha hic ha ha. lol it was so funny reading about the product, thanks tom's, intially I thought it was like an april fools joke but alas it was not. and to think at least 20 people must have been involved in the process from design through to marketing etc.. what can I say, someone obviously doesn't know how to do market research. I don't imagine it will be long before they stop producing them. talk about solving a problem in the worst possbile way, it's just incredible it made it this far.

Ha ha, this wins the award for the stupidest IT thing I have seen this year - almost the stupidest IT gizmo I have ever seen! I wonder if as many people will fall for it as that gaming NIC?

Most of the drives I see failing have that horrible clicking sound indicating something may be physically wrong with the mechanism. What a waste, you would be better off with a software RAID setup.
