After a flop of a tenth movie and a dire performance on television, Star Trek is in danger of going bust. Now Star Trek XI is in production with a new creative crew, slated for release mid-2008. Will this be the movie that makes or breaks Star Trek?

A month late for you, perhaps. 99/100 people I know who are interested in Star Trek have not, apparently, been watching the wikipedia entry for Star Trek XI. If I wrote a history text book for 11 year olds would you complain that you already know half the stuff that was in it?

Another intelligent statement from one of the more toothless, fluoride-deprived states of America.

I don't spend every minute of my day clicking my web browser's reload button on the Star Trek wiki entry, so I would definately be interested in a follow-up article on this.

not only it's a repeat of what wikipedia has, it's only information taken from trekmovie.com... again, it's very old news. Jul 22, 2006 was when the movie poster was revealed. i am just a hater of twitchguru and just expressing myself to others on why i dislike twitchguru. i mean, come on. i'm not the only one that feels this way. in the worse graphic effects of all time article was very bashful and again, all old news. show us some original content!

Again, this is a catch up article for the vast majority of casual Star Trek fans who don't know about all this stuff.

What would YOU like to see articles about, then? Come on people, I always want more ideas.

I'm really, really dissapointed that the movie will be a prequel. I don't give a damn about Kirk, Spock, and the rest. In my opinion, the WORST part of Star Trek -IS- TOS. The only good thing about TOS is it's movies, aside from the first movie, which is terrible, and even THEIR movies aren't THAT great. (Though, they are better than the TNG movies, for sure.)
I guess the OTHER good thing about the horrible TOS is that it paved the way for actually good shows.

Also.. Enterprise gets far too much crap!
Season 3 and 4 of Enterprise is easily on par with anything from TNG and DS9. Infact, I'd say the story based Season 3 of Enterprise surpasses ALL of TNG. Mainly because it actually follows a storyline.

I'd have loved a movie that brought together DS9 and TNG, and answered a few lingering questions about the Dominion War (best part of Star Trek canon!) and some other stuff like that.

Dominion War part of DS9 > Rest of DS9 > Season 3 of Enterprise > TNG > Season 4 of Enterprise > TOS Movies, except the first one > Seasons 1 and 2 of Enterprise > TNG Movies, except for Nemesis > Voyager > Nemesis > First TOS Movie > Nemesis >>>>>> TOS

That's an awesome metaphor. I must say that I've never come to Tom's Hardware (or any Tom's brand as far as these days go) for anything beyond what's covered in the Hardware, Networking & Daily sections these days, but I've always found your news to be slightly untimely.

On the other hand, I've also always found your news to be very complete, if brief. Especially considering early news can often times be incorrect (or just change) I think having complete news is much more important.

Well I was looking on something about a new star trek movie and I appreciate this website because it told me something I didn't know.
Thank you! Your right not everyone knows and not everyone goes to wikipedia to get information they are looking for.
